December Investment Prospectus
Winter has fully hit here in LA, with the weather in the 50s and seemingly incessant downpours. Not quite frigid, but our home isn’t remotely insulated, so I’ve been feeling the chill and have already retreated into warm drinks and larger meals, usually eaten curled up on the couch in front of some quality reality TV.
In that respect, we were pleasantly surprised by the heart-warming, uplifting nature of Dan Levy’s HBO Max food competition show, The Big Brunch. The banter of the co-hosts (Will Guidara of Eleven Madison Park and Sohla El-Waylly of Bon Appétit) has been a pleasant throughline adding that extra hit of acidity that every good dish needs.
Speaking of good dishes, I’ve been messing with some excellent recipes in Amy Chaplin’s Whole Food Cooking Every Day, roasting vegetables from my garden and generously drizzling them in homemade tahini sauce. And yet, the real winner we’ve been revisiting time and again is a quick fusilli pasta with Marcella Hazan’s tomato sauce for dummies, a real set-it-and-forget-it recipe.
