I used to do this monthly Investment Prospectus series, showcasing things I bought in the past month or thought were worth buying. I stopped because it felt a little too commercial, but in the past few months, I’ve been getting some really cool things, and I’ve enjoyed experimenting and putting together outfits with new pieces. It’s a vital part of the evolution of personal style and finding things that feel like you, so I’ve decided to pick it back up.

Look 1

Buck Mason Angeleno Wool Graduate Jacket / Pant | Mercer & Sons Two-Ply Oxford | TheTieBar Grenalux Tie | Wildsmith Model 88 | Tory Spur Belt

Style notes: My styling here is pretty classic and staid, which is how I prefer my suiting. Buck Mason’s been doubling down on their Ivy-style Graduate suit separates, with several summer fabrications. Summer weddings are big for business, and as someone who’s been invited to several, it’s nice to have options. The shirt by Mercer & Sons is my favorite cut, with classic proportions and a generous collar roll.

Look 2

Bloom Cap / Belt | Alex Mill Som Popover | Reigning Champ Sophomore Short | Pane Light Training No-Gi

Style Notes: This is my go-to summer cookout/picnic type of fit. It’s roomy, breathable, a little old man-ish, but still very summery. The single pleat on the longer 9” short helps balance the overall volume since I like to let my shirts blouse out a bit when tucked in. The fun footwear and accessories do the heavy lifting to make it feel a bit more contemporary.

Look 3

Reigning Champ Midweight Terry Relaxed Hoodie / Sophomore Pant | Pane Light Training No-Gi

Style Notes: I love a navy hoodie. I could live in one. Navy in general is top tier, as I hope this look illustrates. It lends a bit of polish to the relaxed fit of the sweatshirt and pants. I went full Reigning Champ on this because they have the most dialed-in relaxed fit among the investment-worthy sportswear brands I’ve found.
